This is a complex WordPress wonder, with a BuddyPress social networking, custom YouTube and Facebook API integration and gamification powered by Badgeville. The version of the site you see here is 2.0; we started with a simple MVP to test the waters and interest in their target audience. When we realized that kids really enjoyed creating custom video reviews of products, we built this much bigger, more complex system.

This version includes direct webcam integration (in addition to the ability to upload video) with the YouTube API, Facebook connect, custom avatar selection, complete customization of core Buddypress functionality, user wishlists, and loads of interaction-driven fun.

KidzVuz partnered with Badgeville to add a gamification element to the various tasks on the site. Watch a video to the end, share content through Twitter or Facebook, comment on posts – all behaviors are awarded points and subsequent badges. We worked with Ricardo Gimenes on the custom illustrations for the site, avatars and badges.
